Last Friday night, I joined some local Charotte bloggers at City Lights rooftop at Le Méridien for an end-of-summer bash with Diet Coke. I thought I’d share a few photos and show y’all my favorite accessory of the night!
Since I started blogging during PA school when I was living in Raleigh, I wasn’t able to attend many blogger events here in Charlotte until recently. Now I try to go to as many as I can because while blogging may be about writing and photography, it is also about building relationships and networking. Not to mention, it’s always a good time when bloggers get together. It’s nice when you don’t feel guilty asking someone to take a picture of you, right?!
So the first order of business to get ready for the event was a mani/pedi sesh at Modern Nails South End. I just found out about them through a friend and started following their Instagram account for ideas. Unlike many nail salons, they are big on social media and you can even make appointments online. They post so many pretty nail colors & designs so I wanted to get my first “fall” manicure with a little twist. Cue the glitter! Of course my mani is my favorite accessory, hence the blog title 🙂 A big thank you to Lauren and her staff for doing such an awesome job getting me ready for the event!
Nail color is OPI “Squeaker of the House” (the whole Washington DC collection is amazing!)
After taking some blog photos (see my full outfit here), Ryan & I headed to the event. We were greeted with this little welcome bag- my favorite item was the flash drive that looks like a lipstick!
In addition to mingling with other bloggers, we got to enjoy some delicious food and beverages. Some of my favorites were the Bloody Mary shrimp cocktail and ahi tuna. And let’s not forget the dessert bar.. SO good!
If you’re planning a trip to Charotte, a stop by City Lights is a must. It is a new rooftop bar on top of the Le Méridien that has killer views of the uptown skyline. A bar that serves prosecco pops (y’all know I’ve talked about these before), plenty of lounge areas and great music make this the perfect spot to meet up with friends. I’d say this end-of-summer bash was a success and thankfully we had beautiful weather- that is slowly cooling down, I might add.
That being said… happy fall, y’all! There are lots of fun things coming up this season which reminds me, I need to officially make my fall bucket list. Bring on the apple cider, Halloween candy, and fall foliage!
*** I’m sure many of you tuned in to CNN to see the shocking things that were going on in our city last night. These peaceful protests turned violent were literally two blocks away from my condo and it’s scary to think that our beautiful city has turned to this violence and hate. Hopefully things will turn around ASAP because I know Charlotte is better than this. Breaking into businesses, looting, and assaulting media are not the answer. Let’s pray for peace. ***
