Being a mom of two has been keeping me pretty busy so a baby Blair update is way overdue, but better late than never! For Porter, my sweet firstborn, I had an update every month on what he was learning and doing. As we all know things are a little different with the second baby (and ten times busier!) so I’m doing a little recap of Blair’s first 6 months!
Ahh those sweet newborn days! We knew pretty soon that Blair was going to be a chill baby like her brother. The only difference was her super shrill cry when she was hungry. She surpassed her birth weight in the first week so we didn’t have to do the 3 hour nightly feeds as long as we did with Porter (for over a month!) She was a great sleeper/napper from day one. She also went to her first birthday party and first pumpkin patch with the family!
Month two was when we discovered how smiley Blair was- always grinning, she truly is the happiest baby! She celebrated her first Halloween (dressed up as the “baby” in our Ice Ice Baby family costume). We took lots of fall strolls in October & November and I dressed her in the cutest little sweater dress- I think this is when I truly fell in love with dressing my little baby doll! Porter adjusted well- he would snuggle her and it took a few weeks, but finally held her in his lap.
By three months Blair had taken her first flight to Naples, Florida. While the ocean was a little too chilly for a swim, she still got to rock some adorable outfits. She went on her first hike then we quickly transitioned to ALL the holiday outfits for Christmas. Porter and Blair had their first matching pajama moment, she got to meet Santa.
Blair celebrated her first Christmas and New Year’s with her big brother which was so sweet, even though she had no idea what was going on! She also started chewing on her hands and at just over 3 months started sleeping through the night!
Baby Blair started to roll over and giggle and also got to experience her first snow day (Porter’s too)! Shortly after that we headed back down to Florida for some sunny weather and she got to dip her toes in the ocean. Her in a swimsuit and sunglasses may be my favorite thing ever!
I feel like the first six months just flew by! Blair started to sit up and develop some chunky thigh rolls. She celebrated her first Valentine’s Day and we had our first matching Lilly moment. I also took a photo of her and Porter at the same age and don’t they look like twins? The only difference is Blair’s blue eyes… we’re hoping they stay bright blue and are thinking they will!
