Okay y’all, I think the cold weather has finally made its way out and all I can say is… bring on spring! There’s something about the change of the seasons that encourages us to switch up out routine whether it’s deep cleaning the house, revamping your closet, or taking a little extra time for self care. Today I’m sharing 5 easy ways to freshen up your routine for spring!
ONE || Switch out your moisturizer
Once the harsh winter months are over, we can finally get a break from dry skin and the need for extra thick moisturizers. For spring and summer, I like to choose something that’s hydrating yet lightweight. Also, since we will be spending more time outdoors, make sure that either your moisturizer or makeup contains SPF!
TWO || Add fresh flowers
I don’t know about y’all, but fresh flowers always put me in a good mood! Sometimes there is limited space in the bathroom, but grab a simple bud vase and a few blooms to give your vanity some spring vibes. I usually pick mine up from the grocery store.
THREE || Mix it up with a new scent in the shower
I absolutely love Mrs. Meyer’s® brand kitchen products and was excited to hear they were coming out with bath & body products. Mrs. Meyer’s® Lavender Body Wash has made its way into my shower and I love the garden-inspired scents. Basil is my go-to for the kitchen but I love the calming scent of lavender in the shower. Whether you prefer a body wash or a bar of soap, Mrs. Meyer’s® Personal Care products have you covered to get you squeaky clean while providing moisturize (and making you smell amazing)! I love that the Body Wash contains essential oils and Aloe Vera gel, and is made without artificial colors or dyes, phthalates, or parabens. Both the Body Wash and Bar Soap are also available in Basil and Honeysuckle scents and you can find them at Target.
FOUR || Whiten your teeth
Start off the season with pearly whites. I should do it more often (thanks, coffee!) but I try to whiten my teeth a few times a year. A few years ago I had custom trays made and now use whitening gel instead of the strips and it makes a huge difference!
FIVE || Get your glow on with self tanner
Truth- we all get a little pasty in the winter time and who doesn’t love a little bronze glow? I love to be outside as much as the next girl but always wear SPF because I want to do all that I can to avoid wrinkles or skin cancer. The key is finding a great self tanner that gives you some natural looking color without getting the harmful rays. I have found that the foam versions are easiest to apply- and don’t forget to always use a mitt!
