Hi, friends!! I’m excited to be back with yet another home tour post and today it’s all about the living room! No doubt the place where we spend most of our time, we absolutely love how this space has turned out and it truly feels like “home”. I like to think it’s contemporary yet cozy, so let’s take a peek shall we?! As always, all sources are listed at the bottom.
Since we have an open floor plan, a cohesive look was key. I decided to stick with neutrals for the living area that were able to flow into the dining area and kitchen- blues, greys and whites. We wanted a little bit of contrast so we decided to go with deep blue sofas which I absolutely love. I also liked the idea of a cocktail ottoman vs. an actual coffee table because it offers extra seating if you need it and it just gives the room a softer feel. I fell in love with this ottoman from West Elm and knew it would be perfect for this space- it has a grey velvet fabric and brass legs. Swoon!
My newest favorite piece is our globe chandelier which Ryan & his dad just hung last week. I wanted a cool light fixture to break up the space a little and was going back and forth between this and a sputnik and ultimately went with the globes because I liked the softer lighting and the more sporadic shape.
Just off the living room, we have a little corner by a window that we decided to make into an “office nook.” I knew I wanted a gold bookshelf somewhere in our main living area and was thrilled to find this one at Joss & Main for a really great price. I love the natural light that floods in from the window above the desk. Do I sit at this desk a lot? No, but I do love this little corner! My “blog office” as Ryan likes to call it!
Decorating a large bookshelf from scratch has been a slow and steady process, but it’s nice to see it all come together. I thought it would be the perfect place to add some greenery, display our wedding album, and mix in some photos of course. And clearly I still need to get more books but overall, I love this little space! It took me forever to find a desk chair that I liked and was thankful to run across this one at HomeGoods. The patterned fabric and nailheads are everything!
