Hi friends and happy hump-day! As you already know, I’m digging all things plaid for this fall (aren’t we all??). You may recognize this cozy cardi from this post (in grey) when I was featured on Southern Weddings. After seeing how stinkin’ soft it was and seeing Zelle rock the green color, I knew I had to have it too!
Friday Five
Hi friends and happy Friday!! The weekend is upon us and I’m welcoming it with open arms. This week was a busy one and I got a lot of stuff done so I’m looking forward to some relaxation… and hopefully some sunshine! It’s been pretty gloomy around here. Anyways, let’s jump into my five on Friday!
one // First week in urgent care
Today I’m finishing up my first week (or 3 days when you have 12-hour shifts) at urgent care and I’m loving it! This was actually my very first rotation and it’s great to circle back around and get to see a variety of illnesses- I’ve been in specialties since June so it’s been a while! I truly feel like a provider and love seeing the patients from start to finish. And I’m not gonna lie, the days off are nice too!
two // Wedding checklist
I’ve jumped back into wedding planning and it feels good to have two more things checked off the ol’ list… our wedding website is up and save-the-dates have been ordered. Cue my happy dance!! Due to some serious rain, our engagement session got pushed back 2 weeks so I feel a little behind schedule, but we should have them out at the 5 1/2 month mark. I tend to freak out about timelines but like Ryan’s sister reminded me, most guests that will be coming to the wedding already know the date so the save-the-date cards are more of a fun way to get them excited and share details like the website… and show off those engagement photos, duh!
three // Hornets Win
Ryan & I went to our first Charlotte Hornets game of the season and after a 3 game losing streak, we pulled through with a win!! This was our first game of the season so I like to think we were good luck 🙂 Ryan & I got season tickets and I have to say, I’m loving our new seats and can’t wait for all the fun games this year!
four // Stax Bootcamp
So I just found out about this, but there’s a CrossFit gym in the SouthEnd area of Charlotte that offers free bootcamp classes twice a week. Ryan & I went with one of our friends and it was a good workout- circuit training with plenty of squats and burpees to go around. It was all fun and games until they walked us over to this field (mind you, it had been raining for the past few days) and it was a complete muddy mess!! Not only did they want us to run in the mud, but to crab walk, bear walk, and do burpees all the way down. Um…. no thank you! So I was that girl doing squats in the corner while everyone is rolling around in the mud. Maybe next time!
five // Rocksbox of the Month
Take a peek at what’s inside this month’s Rocksbox… I’m obsessed!! I’m a sucker for gold and the chunky ring might be my fave. You can learn more about this monthly jewelry box here and if you want to score your first box for free, use code: kristinaxoxo!
Does anyone have fun plans for the weekend? I’m planning for some relaxation, job hunting, and catching up on blog life. Oh, and we’re also trying out a new brunch spot with some friends on Sunday so I’m already looking forward to that. Happy Friday, y’all!

Wedding Wednesday: Our Wedding Website
Alright y’all… it’s finally up and ready! Our wedding website was in the works for quite a while, but I didn’t want to make it live until we had our engagement photos back. When picking out my website, I knew I wanted something a little different (with a pretty design of course). I looked at several sites and ended up going with Appy Couple.

This isn’t a free site (there’s a one time fee of $39) but I loved the layout and all of the designs they had to offer so it was worth it for me. The other great thing about using this site is you can download the Appy Couple app to your phone to easily access the site. I think that’s a pretty cool feature considering most of us use our smartphones for everything.
So take a look and let me know what you think- I’m so in love with our mint & gold color scheme!
Who knows how many guests actually visit the website, but I think it’s an essential part of wedding planning so that everyone has the right information about your big day. Plus, it builds hype and gets everyone excited! You can check out our full website here!

Weekending: Halloween Edition

I hope all of you had a great Halloween whether you dressed up or handed out candy to the little kiddos. I haven’t dressed up the past two years because my PA school schedule has been a little difficult so I didn’t really go out. I was expecting to do the same thing this year, but luckily it all turned around with some last minute costume parties! Halloween is my favorite holiday so I usually do it big and I’m already planning on something creative for next year.
On Friday, I sported my last minute costume and went as a viking to a little party with my classmates. Sarah & I were a little frightened when the zombie butchers jumped out at us… those girls went all out! There was lots of yummy food & witches brew to go around and I was so glad to have another get-together with my PA friends. It’s crazy to think that in a few months we’ll all be going our own ways and starting our careers in healthcare!
On Saturday, I got up early and headed back to Charlotte (made a Party City pit stop on the way) and got ready for the annual Rich & Bennett’s Halloween Bar Crawl. One of Ryan’s friends had the brilliant idea of building a pirate ship… on wheels… so we all decided to go as a group of pirates and boy, did we make an entrance. They stored the ship in our loading dock and when it was time to go, we literally rolled down the streets of uptown Charlotte. Poor Ryan had to push most of the way but you should have seen the looks we got- everyone had their phones out and were snapping away. When we got to the gathering of the crawl, the DJ played the Pirates of the Caribbean song and “I’m On a Boat” as we rolled it. It was such a hit!! I’m so glad that I got to go out and see all the crazy costumes- that’s one of my favorite parts!
Yesterday was an extremely lazy day. I just got my engagement photos back (woohoo!!) and picking out a save-the-date photo is proving to be quite the task. I can’t wait to share them with you guys!! In other exciting news… I start my VERY LAST PA school rotation today!!! I cannot believe it, guys. This month I’ll be working in urgent care which also happened to be my first rotation so I think it will be neat to see how much I’ve learned since day one. So I’m off to my 12-hour shift… hope y’all have a great Monday!

Cozy Fall Y’all

Hello, friends and TGIF!! In case you didn’t happen to see my Instagram post on Wednesday, I was super excited to be featured on Southern Weddings. All the praise hands emojis for this one!! Their blog is one of my favorite sources for wedding inspiration and of course I jumped at the chance when they asked me to style their “Love Never Fails” tee in a cozy way for fall. You can find it online in the Southern Weddings Shop.
Seeing Stripes
When I shop, I tend to gravitate toward solid pieces. I guess solids seem to be more “neutral” and “versatile” but I’m always trying to step up my pattern game. During fall, the pattern most of us gravitate toward is plaid… but let’s not forget about the stripes! Black, white, gold, or neutral- stripes are an easy pattern to pull off and tends to mix well with others. Take stripes mixed with plaid for example (wait… aren’t those never to be worn at the same time? don’t they clash?). Luckily fashion is becoming less about following the so called “rules” and more about self expression. I love how Amanda paired her striped dress with the infamous plaid blanket scarf… and it just works! I’ve compiled some of my favorite striped pieces for your viewing pleasure (how cozy does that robe look??).
We’re officially halfway through the week and you know what that means… American Horror Story comes on tonight!! Who else out there thinks this may be the weirdest season ever?? And where is Jessica Lange? I kind of feel like she’s a staple of the show. Anyway, hope y’all have a great Wednesday!
