TGIM! I know, you’re probably rolling your eyes but I get to enjoy one more day off this weekend.. soooo I guess I’m technically still weekending over here! First of all, congrats to Claire B. for winning the Tory Burch giveaway!! I’m happy to report that my first week at urgent care (well, 3 days really) went very well. These 12 hour days actually go by pretty quickly and the days off… I don’t hate it. But let me break down my day for you:
Wake up at 6:30. Get ready & eat breakfast (eggs every day!)
~20 minute commute, luckily I go opposite of traffic. Arrive a few minutes before 8.
See patients all morning. Grab a quick bite to eat (no hour-long lunch break since there are only 3 people working the clinic)
See patients all afternoon… up until 8. And by 8, I mean 8:30-8:45.
20 minute commute home leaves me with about 1.5 hours to shower, hang out with Ryan, and mess around on the computer.
I feel like a bit of a bad blogger because I haven’t got to read/comment on as many blogs as I usually do. When I’m at work, I literally have like 15 minutes all day to look at my phone. Long gone are the days where I could peruse the blogosphere
So now that I’ve got that off my chest, let’s talk weekending! I had to work Friday and it’s apparently one of the busiest days in urgent care. I saw my share of sports physicals (I could probably do those in my sleep), strep throats, pink eyes, ear infections, rashes, and back pains… and then some. In case you don’t follow me on IG, here was me on my first day!
Saturday was a super fun girls day with my best friend from home, Kelly! She hadn’t been to Charlotte in a while so it was great to just hang out all day, catch up on life, and shop of course. We started the day with lunch at Little Spoon, a new breakfast & lunch spot on Selwyn. Their menu is quite small, but all their food is farm-to-table and my loaded chorizo goat cheese grits were pretty tasty.
Lunch was followed by manis and my favorite pastime, shopping! So. much. fall. everything. I’m pretty excited for all things fall, but I can’t even think about buying a sweater when it’s 95 degrees out. For dinner we headed to Chuy’s, a super fun Mexican place in Southpark. The inside is decorated very eccentrically with crazy bright colors and their patio is just as great. It was the perfect night to eat outside, until this pesky bee kept hovering around us- eeek! Luckily our waiter killed it for us- he got a good tip for that one. We finished the night off with some Pinkberry and I couldn’t have asked for a better day to spend with my bestie.
While at the mall I managed to find a few things to add to the Christmas wish list. Is is too early for that?? I think not. I really
