Ahh… the once-a-year sale that all bloggers rant and rave about is upon us. I thought I’d do a quick “cheat sheet” post on the sale and share a few of the in’s & out’s. While
What is it?
Only the best sale to come around all year! For just a few weeks at the end of the summer, Nordstrom rolls out all of their new items for fall and offers them at a major discount. Designer items, affordable brands, beauty products and Christmas gifts. It’s the perfect time to stock up for yourself or get a head start on the holiday shopping.
When is it?
Early access starts this Thursday, July 14th and the sale is open to the public on July 22nd. Prices go back up on August 8th.
How do I get early access?
A lot of items sell out quickly and with early access you can have first dibs. The only way to do this is with the Nordstrom credit OR debit card. I have resisted the urge in years past but I’m breaking down and getting the credit card this year.
PRO TIP: If you apply for a card, get approved, and spend $100 that same day, you get $20 back in Nordstrom Notes (aka Nordstrom money to spend towards your next purchase). I spoke with customer service yesterday and they said the approval process is pretty instantaneous so my strategy is to apply early Thursday morning and that way I can take advantage of the sale and the extra 20 bucks. It’s a win-win! Here’s a quick rundown of the cards and what they offer. You can apply here.
Why would I want to buy clothes for fall? It’s so hot right now!
Because you get to shop the newest fall trends and when fall actually comes around, all the items will be back to full price. I love stocking up on a few fall essentials like sweaters and booties, tucking them away in the closet, and then having a head start on my fall wardrobe when the weather drops. I’m all about preparation, people!
What kinds of items are part of the sale?
Tons! You can check out the catalog here and rest assured- there will be way more on sale tomorrow. Hot ticket items are Tory Burch & Frye riding boots (usually around $200 off), Hunter boots, Rebecca Minkoff handbags, ankle booties, Kendra Scott jewelry, and accessories like scarves and ponchos. If you’ve had your eye on an expensive piece, this is the time to get it. And trust me, you don’t have to shell out hundreds of dollars to partake in the sale- the BP section always has tons of fall items that are stylish and easy on the wallet.
Throughout the sale I’ll be sharing some of my top picks, both steals and splurges so be sure to check the blog next week. And on a side note, I want to wish one of my besties, Katie, a very happy birthday! Happy shopping, friends!!
