Friday is here!!! It’s been a little colder in Charlotte than I would’ve liked this week, but I’m crossing my fingers for some pool weather this weekend. I want to keep this tropical tan going strong! We’ve had a busy little week but I’m okay with it… it makes up for the not so busy weeks when I’m in Raleigh. Let’s jump right into today’s five on Friday (and if you live in Charlotte and like free house cleaning, you’re in for a special treat). Just keep scrolling 🙂
One // First week in ortho
I was very excited for this rotation for two reasons. 1) I get to be back in Charlotte and 2) I’m back at the offices where I used to work before starting PA school. Yay!! I don’t have much ortho experience but the first week has been great so far. Each week I’ll rotate through pediatrics, sports, hand, hip & knee, foot & ankle, and spine. Phew! I got to assist on a total hip replacement yesterday which was pretty exciting- so many tools, lots of sawing/hammering/screwing, and a good amount of blood splatter- it was great! And I love how I was so excited about my snap that I wrote the wrong procedure… whoops!
Don’t you love the little golfer skeleton in the peds office?
Two // Ryan’s doppleganger
So… did y’all know my fiancé was on The Bachelorette? Haha, kidding of course! I was a week late watching the Bachelorette so my mom actual pointed this one out. She was like “Kristina, there is a guy that looks just like Ryan on there.” And she was right- maybe Joshua is Ryan’s long lost twin haha. You be the judge. This week, we went over to my friend Whitney’s to make homemade pizza (for the first time), have cocktails, and watch the show- complete with hilarious commentary. It’s definitely proving to be an entertaining season so far- much better than boring Chris Soules.
Three // Still dreaming about vacay…
In case you missed my St. Maarten recaps, read about part 1 and part 2 here. Overall, I would greatly recommend visiting this fun island next time you plan a vacation- we had an absolute blast! Ryan & I are pretty certain about where we’ll be honeymooning next year, but if anyone has any suggestions of places they loved or places to avoid, I’d love your input!
Four // Summer cleaning with Maid Savvy
For all my Charlotte friends who are looking for a convenient, green housecleaning service- let me introduce Maid Savvy. They’re locally owned & operated in Charlotte, have easy online booking and flat rates, and always bring their own supplies. I know we could all use a little summertime cleaning right about now so they are giving one lucky winner one free cleaning service! Who can say no to that?? You can either go to the Maid Savvy website or like their Facebook page to enter!
Five // Yummy Mexican at RuRu’s
On Wednesday, we went out for our friend Randy’s birthday and stuffed our faces at RuRu’s Tacos & Tequila (and I enjoyed both of those). It’s a newer Mexican restaurant in Myer’s Park and might be a new favorite! How cute is that patio? We didn’t eat out there considering it was like 60 degrees out but I can’t wait to go back. I highly recommend the “Queso Royale” and the guac was just as delicious! Ok… now I’m hungry.
Ps. You have 2 more days to enter the $140 PayPal cash giveaway so check out these other lovely bloggers and get those entries in! Thanks for reading and I hope y’all have a fabulous weekend 🙂
