This weekend we celebrated our 5th annual friendsgiving with some of my closest friends- a night full of great food, drinks and conversation. A few of us have participated every year from the beginning but the group has definitely grown over the years (13 of us this year)! This was our second time hosting at our house (see last year’s post here) so I thought I would be a little “extra” and send a little snail mail with an invite from Basic Invite! Ps. I don’t know about y’all, but I love any excuse to have a party. Saturday was no exception as Ryan & I hosted a housewarming party to celebrate our new townhouse. Finally!!! It felt like forever waiting for our home to be built so I feel like I have been looking forward to this housewarming for quite some time now and I’m happy to say it was a successful first celebration in our house and there will be many more to come! It was calling for some major rain here in Charlotte but luckily a quick rain shower passed and we were all still able to go hang out on our rooftop terrace.
Today I’m sharing some details from the party as well as 5 housewarming party tips to ensure an awesome celebration. All party sources are listed at the bottom!
Today’s wedding Wednesday is all about the details!! Every wedding has a ceremony and a reception but the details are the little things that set each wedding apart. The little things that are sweet and sentimental and are unique to your special day. Since y’all know I’m a huge planner, I was so very excited to see all of these things together!
One of the first details we got to share with our guests were the invitations. I worked with Lauren from Elle Dee Designs to create an invite that had some traditional elements, but was most importantly fun. I absolutely loved the shimmery gold dots and of course we had to introduce our hashtag!
ceremony, our guests got to mix and mingle while enjoying hors d’ourves and cocktails-
featuring the incredibly delicious Moscow Mules! While these drinks are pretty
trendy right now, the real reason I wanted to incorporate them was because I was actually born in
so we incorporated some more mint & gold with Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Aren’t they
the best?? This was one of my few DIY projects where I just punched out the circles
and wrote all the guest’s names in calligraphy. My MOH also helped out by hot
gluing the toothpicks to the backs of the cards. Lifesaver!
After rushing back from Charleston last Saturday (I didn’t speed, I promise!) I had to frantically do something with this hair and get ready for my friend Ashton’s wedding. Like in 30 minutes- holy stressed out!! Like any girl, the weeks prior to the event I was stressing over what to wear. After searching some boutiques and online shops, I knew I didn’t want to shell out a ton of $$$ for a dress I’d only wear once or twice so I went to my trusty friend, Rent the Runway.
