Happy Monday & it’s back to the grind. Let me first report that my night shift on Wednesday night wasn’t as bad as I thought and the yawns didn’t start coming until around 6am. I got home just as Jeff was getting ready for work and then just crashed. I slept until 2pm and let me tell you, it’s no fun getting your sleep schedule thrown out of whack like that. Anyways, that was my only one and only 2 more weeks of rotation! #timeflies.
Since my weekend started on Thursday, Sarah & I went over to our friend Vaishali’s for a much needed girls night. They taught me some lessons in the kitchen and we made some d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s black bean tacos and Mexican rice (get the recipe here). That was followed by dessert and How to Get Away with Murder… so obsessed with that show! Shonda Rhimes can do no wrong.
On Friday, Sarah & I had lunch with Anna, another one of our classmates and popped into some shops at Cameron Village. So many boutiques, so little time- love that place! Later that night we met more friends out at Person Street Bar for some bubbly and good conversation. Sadly, this is the only picture I got because it was so dark inside… boo!
Saturday was a super productive day that started by going to the gym. I feel so much more productive if I get my butt in there early in the day. Afterwards, the roommates and I did some work around the house… and I mean work. Since there are 3 of us with very different schedules, it can be hard to keep it clean around here. We finally scheduled a deep cleaning day since we were all home and our apartment looks ah-mazing!! Let me also add that we finally hung up all of our wall artwork & decorations… 3 months later. We’re lazy but I can use PA school as my excuse right?!? Anyways, the place looks great and feels even more homey. That night we watched The Fourth Kind (creepy alien movie, have y’all seen that crazy live footage?) and I made some pumpkin spice cookies. No, they’re not homemade but came from this lovely Toll House package and were still super delicious. Don’t hate!
In other news, I’ve never thought of myself as a writer (before the blog of course) but I was very excited to take on a new opportunity for Charlotte’s Got a Lot. I was asked to write an article featuring Halloween events in the Queen City and of course I jumped at the idea! The Charlotte Happenings publication can be found in little stands around the city but they were kind enough to send me my very own copy (which is actually at Ryan’s right now but he sent me this lovely photo!). If you’re looking for some fall activities to do around Charlotte, check out the full article here!
Hope each & every one of you have a great Monday and be sure to check back tomorrow for a giveaway for a good cause!
