Last Thursday, I was invited to attend a fun wedding event here in Charlotte and like any blushing bride, I jumped at the opportunity! The 2016 Bridal Styles Charlotte fashion show was hosted by Tina of Love & Honey Weddings and was held at J. Major’s Bridal Boutique. This was a fun event where us girls could enjoy a night of bridal fashion. Even though I found my wedding dress almost a year ago, I still love looking at all the new styles so I brought Katie along and we made a little girls night out of it.
We got the party started with some snacks, vino, and mingling. The sweet treats were provided by The Wow Factor Cakes, a cake shop conveniently located next door to the bridal boutique (who we’re also using for the wedding). I mean, just look at that cake design! We got to enjoy bite-size cake bites complete with frosting and glitter. Yes, glitter- it was all sorts of awesome.
I loved getting the chance to see some of the latest bridal trends for this season and the dresses were stunning! I’ll take you through a few of my favorites.
Alvina Valenta: Style 9551
A lace bodice with a sweetheart neckline paired with a ball gown- can’t get any more bridal than that! I love the fun tulle layers of this gown with a horsehair edge. Classic with a fun twist.
This marbled jacquard material is definitely unique. And any dress with pockets is a winner in my book!
This dress is for the daring, edgy, fashionista bride who likes to break the rules… just a little bit! J. Major’s is the exclusive seller of Erin Grey Couture bridal separates. This line was actually created by the store’s owner, CJ, and features fun skirts and tops that can give brides such a unique look. They can be worn separately or sewn together to create a one-of-a-kind dress. This high-low skirt is actually what inspired the design of the cake!
This combo of lace and tulle… swoon! It’s just so dreamy and just think of all the skirts you could pair with that crop top.
I love this streamlined and feminine dress with romantic lace and netting. This column style has a simple front but a sexy, strappy back.
You can’t really tell in this photo, but this is also a two piece set with a crop top. We all know sleeves are super popular these days and this look is trendy, yet sophisticated.
I’m normally not a huge fan of beading, but this dress is beading done right. I love the classic, form-fitting silhouette with all-over lace. The straps are also beaded with tiny little pearls- so glamorous!
This two-piece set would be a fun dress for a more casual wedding or even for pre-wedding festivities like the rehearsal dinner. I love the ivory and gold combination- so classy and elegant.
This was such a fun event and I’m so glad I got to partake in a night of style and beauty with all of these ladies. Which styles were your favorite? Are/were you a traditional bride or would you try something like a two-piece set? Can’t to share my actual dress with y’all very soon!!
